I have seen this TV and it is fine for the price. However, my previous dealings with Toshiba technical support / customer service makes me wish to advise people to steer clear of Toshiba. When my customseriesHD TV could not play my HD devices support basically had a, 'your fault for buying our TV' attitude. Any attempt to make it right would have been appreciated, just an explanation and a 'sorry'. If I had received that minimum of customer appreciation I would not have sworn off Toshiba brand.
That being said, I would not advise people to get this TV because if you have problems you are probably just hosed.

I picked up this HDTV and Blue Ray on special from Comp USA = $1200. TV has been great so far. Some people complain about the 8ms response speed. But I haven't seen any problems with jitter. I've watched Blue Ray and DVDs. My Dish network DVR in HD. And everything looks great. The menu system is easy to use. But it takes a while to get all of the devices connected and configured properly. We are impressed with the auto-dim feature - this works great on a partly cloudy day where the room brightness varies. The design is a little blocky and has a wide black rim around the screen. Although, the shine is between high gloss and matte black. Overall, I would recommend this to others for the price point, size, and performance.
